Forum Presentation: EAP: an Asset to HR
 
        The most important thing we have to do is to promote EAP. HR people worry about EAP’s impact on their work. EAP developed very well in some countries has been very persuasive. However, in some developing countries, like India and China, we have to persuade our staff the effectiveness of EAP. That is what we are going to talk about today, employee assistance programs an asset to HR. Talk to Whom when employees have problems, who is best one for it. What are the criteria for choosing the person to talk to? First, when we choose a person to talk to, the people must be there, when we need them, via phone, e-mail, online etc or face-to-face. We hope we can contact them directly, and consistently. Second, we can get their response. A good listener will give quick response. Third, a good listener must be reliable. Because confidentiality is a very sensitive topic. You do not went what you told to you coworker become widely spread. So we must trust the people we talk to can keep the secret for us. Forth, most reasonable. In other word, the people must have the knowledge or capability to help us, or give us some guidance. Fifth, we can afford to talk to the people.
