EAP should be designed to facilitate and support the talents. Reducing cost, cost associated with absentee and work accidence, because people are distracted or not pays attention, turnover, people’s leaving, whatever cause company difficulties, EAP should be helping with. Business risk, that may be legal risk, may be risk of accidence, it may be turnover, losing key employee who has significant knowledge, company need to remain competitive. EAP is designed to reduce any risks associated with any specific company.
Let me introduce you briefly two hypocritical or fictitious companies, company A and company B, both of them have been very successful over the years. Company B has confidence in its production and people, and is still doing business as usual. Company A also have confidence in doing business and its people, but the executive of company A know something important about human behavior. Company B has dilemma, it has to reduce the turnover.
